The Process: Step-By-Step

A couple quick notes: This process is designed to be as convenient for you and your busy schedule as possible. It's also intended to include your parent(s) or someone who knows you well and supports your developing career.

Step 1: Fill out the form on the "Contact" page or email me at StartHereCareer@gmail.com

Once I hear from you (student or parent), I'll email you a link, where you can take both the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® and Strong Interest Inventory®.

Step 2: Complete both assessments.

This step will be done on your own, whenever you have time to reflect and answer a bunch of questions about yourself. The two assessments will be online and don't need to be completed at the same time. Each one will take about 30 minutes.

*There is no charge or deadline for this step. I'll send you the link for the assessments, and you may complete them whenever you have the time.

Step 3: We'll meet to discuss your reports.

After you complete both assessments, we'll schedule a meeting to go over your detailed reports. You'll choose a day and time that work best with your schedule, and I encourage you to include your parent(s) or others in this discussion. After your session is booked, I'll download and prepare all of your personalized materials to get ready for our meeting.

 

During our discussion, we'll talk about areas that may be a good (and bad) fit for you related to:

• classes and clubs

• extracurriculars and hobbies

• current part-time jobs or volunteer work

• potential college majors

• future occupations

Pricing: $250

What's included in the cost for this program:

​

• You will be given a folder full of reports and personalized planning information. As a side note, the official reports from the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® and the Strong Interest Inventory® are not available for free online, and as a consultant, I'm charged a fee (per assessment) every time I download reports for a client.

​

• We will work through all of your results in a career consultation (typically 60 minutes). This will be casual, with your parent(s), and we'll discuss these reports and next steps in pursuing your interests.

​

• I'll provide resources for how to follow-up after this program. These include useful websites, extra materials, and a list of potential next steps for you.

​

• At Bedford High School, you may also use this program to earn Real World Learning hours in the category of Career Exploration & Planning.
